Who We Are:

SmartResume, an iDatafy company, is on a mission to level the playing field for everyone who creates a resume to advance their career. We start by helping institutions create resume content for individuals they support in the form of verifiable digital credentials. We then market a better resume technology to those individuals, help them activate their SmartResume, and then build upon it using a suite of innovative new tools. Ultimately, we’re creating a new type of comprehensive record on an individual’s knowledge, skills and abilities, capitalizing on new data standards that are growing in adoption across the country. Once a SmartResume is created, a job seeker can opt into our certified talent marketplace where they can connect with recruiters. Their SmartResume is anonymized so recruiters must first focus on their qualifications before learning anything about their race, gender, or ethnicity. We are an early stage start-up, with demonstrated traction, looking for exceptional people to join our team.

What You’ll Do:

SmartResume is looking for a Director of Marketing who will serve as a key contributor to the growth of the talent marketplace. The first priority for this individual will be growing the base of learners/job seekers who are affiliated with our educational and workforce development partners. You will manage the marketing funnel directed at a defined addressable audience, creating awareness of our free offering, building consideration, and ultimately driving conversion. You will also help us build a marketing presence and strategy to communicate with our partners and employer customers. A pivotal member of the team, this individual will touch every aspect of the business, building a brand in an innovative and rapidly growing industry.


  • Provide vision, growth strategy, and overall leadership for each marketing channel of the business
  • Develop content to advance an addressable audience through our marketing funnel.
  • Define, develop, and execute email marketing plans, schedules, and analytics for growing and optimizing email marketing and transactional programs.
  • Provide a holistic plan for our email lifecycles including activation emails, welcome emails, drip campaigns, news update emails, and other forms of communication to drive user engagement.
  • Help define key performance indicators and reporting methods to analyze campaign results and to inform optimization recommendations to increase performance.
  • Test various paid media channels to identifying effective marketing channels.
  • Partner with SmartResume’s advertising agency to deliver compelling content to users and to build the company brand.
  • Build a customer segmentation strategy to deliver personalized and engaging communications across channels.
  • Be a key contributor in developing a deep understanding of customer needs, motivations, and desires to shape company strategy.
  • Define best practices, set measurable objectives, ensure tracking/reporting capabilities, evaluate campaign results, create P&L analysis, and keep up-to-date on new and innovative marketing trends.

About You:

  • At least 5 years of relevant marketing experience.

  • You are an effective and responsive communicator.
